If you haven’t been following the Elliot Spitzer prostitution scandal, the name Ashley Alexandra Dupre is foreign to you. She’s the new Monica Lewinsky – famous for having sex with a politician. In Ms. Dupre’s case she was paid for it, so it might be considered more scandalous. In either event adult magazines and films are courting her with offers that will top $1 million dollars – not a bad sum of money for a 22-year old. It’s not enough to retire on, but with some work and good investing and frugal living maybe…

I would have difficult not taking the money if I were her. Then again, no one has made the offer to me yet.

I find this pretty absurd. Paris Hilton at least has some celebrity power. I don’t know about you, but I think of Nicole Ritchie as Paris’ friend or ex-friend depending on the time-line. I guess we’ve reached the point where friends of famous people who do nothing are getting paid millions.

It’s another case of it not being what you know, but who you know.
